This book provides a resource for hymn texts similar to what a Bible concordance does for Bible study. It is an alphabetical index showing the places in the verbal text where each principal word may be found. Each work is given with the phrase in which it appears. The concordance is useful in finding the complete context for partly remembered phrases and for locating quotations. A survey of the phrases connected to a word will enlarge concepts, give inspiration for meditations and sermons, suggest thematic outlines, and in general stimulate associations.
